I recently threw a Birthday Party for my wife at the Black Pony. I thought I would just share my thank you note to management as they were fantastic. Thank you. Everything went so smoothly. Your guys were great. They were flexible and read the vibe of the room for timing. They were great communicators and the food was amazing. My slideshow and playlist were easily shared. Thank you all for making it so easy for me. I really appreciate all of the hard work.

I didn’t take a picture of the drinks, but the drinks were excellent at this Leslieville spot. Went with a friend, cool vibes, good music, friendly staff. Would go back in the future, probably for one of their trivia nights.

My favorite coffee shop in Toronto! The pastries are unbelievable. Coffee is good too. Decor and ambience is hip, cool. I look forward to coming here each time I’m in the area.

No espresso after 6 PM... but drip coffee is available. Lol I’m not a drinker, so finding a good coffee option matters on a Saturday evening. Honestly, we need more coffee shops open after 6 PM — they’re hard to find in Toronto! Great atmosphere and service though.

Such a lovely, unique place. We dined here with friends and it was such a good experience. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and service is great. We had the cheese platter, the hummus platter, pierogies, paper planes (cocktail), and Ceasars (which were absolutely amazing). The drinks were just perfect and honestly among the best I’ve had in Toronto. Will certainly visit again!

I've visited the cafe on Sunday during lunch time, it was very busy - many families with children - it is a kid friendly place, but also regular independent coffee shop crowd: people sipping their coffee while reading or working on their laptops. delicious coffee as always (and yes, there is regular 10% coffee cream available now), plus cookies, pastries and sandwiches. The place is fully licensed, so you can get beer or something stronger there as well! A beautifully decorated interior - there is also another room in the back with more tables, if you're looking for a quieter spot. if you find a moment check out the graffiti on the east and south walls of the building - (they are from the times when the cafe was called Flying Pony) - super cute and very instagramable. My previous review from early months of 2022. it is so nice to see this place reopened. This used to be cafe and art gallery named Flying Pony, I am curious whether the partially changed name indicates totally new ownership/management, or just means new beginnings for the established business that closed during the Covid lockdown? coffee is good, so are the Christmas cookies that I had tried. the staff is extremely friendly and welcoming, five stars for that, they seem to be really nice and genuine in their attitude toward all guests, it is something that one doesn't encounter very often these days... my only wish is that the place offered self-served sugar/milk/cream stand, as so many other cafes already do. for shy people it is a bit of a challenge to ask the barista for additional sugars and cream - not to mention that they use 5% coffee cream instead of the usual 10%. it is wonderful to see this place reopened after such a long time, and back in the neighbourhood. lots of seating place - a treat for bigger groups - a semi private room with a communal table at the back, perfect for caffeinated meetings.

Really great atmosphere with lots of nice seating for a cup of joe (or something heavier as there is a bar as well) — the staff was very friendly, and funny, and the coffee tasted great! Thanks for having us!
